Chemistry Education

The overarching goal of the Sinapuelas research group is to understand how students can be best supported so all will achieve and persist in science. This includes specific consideration of how to increase participation and inclusion of traditionally underrepresented groups in science. These research efforts include exploration of how to support student achievement in chemistry on the San Francisco State campus as well as foster interest from local K-12 students to pursue a degree in chemistry or the larger field of science. Research interests within this work include student learning, achievement, diversity, equity, and increasing participation in science.
